Precisionism was an American outgrowth from Cubism that arose after World I and was characterized by a emphasis on Industrialism. It was self-consciously American and sought to differentiate itself from art movements in Europe.
Precisionism depicted modernization with precise geometrical designs that are sharply defined. Charles DeMuth's work was influenced by the Abstrace Movement but not all Precisionist Art is abstract. Precisionism gradually died out during the 1940's but it heavily influenced other modern art movements including Pop Art.
