Myron of Eleutherae worked chiefly in bronze and was an older contemporary of Phidias and Polyclitus, and, like them, also a pupil of Ageladas. His sculpture of a bronze heifer was supposedly so lifelike it could be mistaken for a real cow.
Myron is known for his Discobolus (discus-thrower) which had careful proportion and rhythm. I have reproductions of this statue available.
Discobolos
An Olympic-sized work inspired by the 5th century BC piece in the Museo Nazionale, Rome, it is one of the most famous classic Greek sculptures of all time. This work boasts vigorous and convincing movement in a perfect male form.
